Sankiana -> *Never in the few years that she could remember had she been out at sea. It was quite the experience. She could do without the queasiness in her belly though. And not being able to swim didnt exactly make her the happiest person on board. Her arms stayed clung to the closest and sturdiest thing she could. Currently to the mast did she hold tight. Every once in a while did she open an eye to gaze about, but all she saw was more blue and no green. Where was the green?! Where was the land?! Sankiana did not like this. Not at all.* Let me know when we get there...
Valerian -> From the fact that they won’t allow us above deck now, we should be there soon. I’ve been to the place a number of times, but I still don’t know its exact location. Guess that’s how they’ve managed to keep it hidden all this time. *The pair had been on the boat for a few days since the attempt on Sankiana’s life. He had suggested that she relocate to a more isolate place until she could find out what was going on, and there were only two places Valerian knew of that were isolated and where people didn’t really care about who someone was, and he was forbidden to return to one of those places, meaning that the pirate island was the only other place he could take her to make sure she was safe.* Just hang on for another few hours and you’ll be safely on dry land again.
Sankiana -> *A lone eye opened once more to look over at her traveling companion, a crease of her brow occuring. It was probably the first time he had seen her features without a smile or something like it. She was quite unhappy aboard the swaying vessel.* Thats what you said five seconds ago! *Came a whine from her pursed lips, nails clenching into the wood. She sighed soon after though, not happy with her current attitude. She was being quite the nuisance. Valerian had done alot for her in the past few days and here she was being a brat. Apologetically did she peer upon the man, trying her best to smile. Even with the constant flop of her belly* I am very sorry, Valerian. I know you are doing your best to get me to this place safely. Utilizing your resources to do so. I will try to be better company. *Another attempt at a smile, the grip upon the sturdy wooden pole not weakening.*
Valerian -> *He frowned slightly and rolled his eyes. He knew this trip wasn’t what she had planned on, but it was that or stay where she was and most likely die.* Forget about it. A trip like this is hard for anyone not used to it. Just keep your eyes down and close, think about something else and the time will pass more quickly. I really can’t offer you any other advice than that. *From above, one of the crew shouted that they were coming upon the island.* See………..there ya go. Just hang tight for a little bit longer.
Sankiana -> *The call from the crewman was like a call from Verna herself. Another sigh burst from her mouth, this one of relief. The smile that came to was genuine, and grateful.* Oh thank the heavens! *The Tireenian reluctantly peeled herself from her post and unsteadily traipsed over to the stairs. Ready to get off this ship. There has got to be another way to get to where you needed to be besides the sea!* How can you do this time after time? I am quite surprised I have not lost my lunch! *A groan* What are we going to do when we arrive there? *Worry showed clear on her visage, the color returning to it now that their journey was almost at an end. Yes, this Verna-forsaken trip. Everything would be fine once they reached land. Things were uncertain, but at least they would not have to worry about drowning.*
Valerian -> How can a person work three jobs at the same time? Compared to that, sitting on a ship for a few days is the simplest of tasks. *He looked over to her with a cocked eyebrow.* If you were going to lose your lunch, you’d have done it on the first day, not the last. Just be glad we’ve had smooth waters. Sometimes the ocean can crush a ship into splinters if she’s in the mood. *He shrugged.* Same thing you’d do when first moving to a new area. Find you a job and a place to stay until you can get your own place. Then………..well, we’ll see what happens from there.
Sankiana -> *Working three jobs and riding on a ship were two different things! Completely! How could he compare them? He truly did not understand. Oh well.* What about you? What are you going to do? I mean, I know you do not have a permanent home so you are more than welcome to stay with me. *The smile on her lips grew soft, and they parted to speak once more before they were ceased when a resounding THUD was heard. It shook the entireity of the vessel, knocking one from their feet if they had not been holding steady to something. Like Sankiana had been previously, but now met the deck with a smaller thud. She grumbled at her luck. Just when she thought it was safe. Any protests she made were drowned out by the rush of footsteps above them, the cries of alarm and shouts of dismay. Gunfire erupted soon after, the clanging of metal joining after. Something was obviously going on up there. But what? Sankiana climbed quickly to her feet and stood in a defensive stance. And waited* Whats happening up there? *As if Valerian could see through the wood. To her knowledge he could not*
Valerian -> Drop some coin, ask around, see if anybody knows anything about you or why someone would want you. But I doubt I’ll end up being here long enough to need a place to stay this time. Though the offer is appreciated. *As he heard the thud up on deck and closed his eyes a sighed.* This…can’t be happening. *He placed his right thumb and index finger against the bridge of his nose and groaned.* You are some kind of bad luck, you know that? *He looked over to her and shook his head then moved to the ladder leading up to the main deck.* Stay here and stay quiet.
Sankiana -> *Bad luck? How rude! But she did as she was told. He knew more about this bounty business than she did. If she wanted to live she had best follow instructions. When Valerian came up on deck he found the noise that had called him there gone. It was silent. Eerily so. There was not a soul present. No one at the helm, no one readying to dock. There was just Valerian, and a rather large man across the way. He had to be five times Valerian's size. Quite a bit taller too. The swordsman had to look up at the stranger to look him in the face. That bearded face, the length going all the way down to his gleaming belt. Three prongs did the purple beard have, each end sparkling with a golden ring. His hair extended a bit longer than his beard, and it was dyed yellow. His moustache measured about three fit, the hue black. Bushy brows almost blotted out narrowed eyes. One pupil brown, the other red. His chest was bare save a myriad of scars and a tattoo of a mermaid. Topless with flowing blond hair. His britches were brown and torn, his boots a bit tattered. In his massive meaty hands he held a broadsword. The steel dripping with red, a recent red.* Where is the girl? I havent got all day. *Called the man in his gruff tone, a rumbling one as well. It almost shook the ship with every word.*
Valerian -> *He got up on deck and looked around, seeing nothing at first.* Well, this doesn’t bode well. *He took another look around and spotted a figure hidden in a mixture of mist and smoke.* Well……….it would take more than one of you to finish off this crew. They may not look like much but they’re…………..*His words trailed off as the mist cleared revealing the huge figure of a man standing on the deck.* My, my, my, aren’t you a big one. I didn’t realize this ship was rated for moving livestock. Think they could put it to better use then they have been don’t you think? *He smirked, gently dropping on hand down to his sword.* Girl you say? I think you’re mistaken. See this crew is………well, was thanks to you it seems, smuggling me away from a big problem I caused, not as big as you though. And now, I’m in an even bigger bit of trouble now. See, I don’t think my………..friend, will believe a man the size of a golem killed the crew…..you’re not a golem are you? Whatever. *He waved a had dismissing his own question.* And if I go to this friend, well, it won’t be on good terms. OR….I could take the boat and run, and hope to survive on my own…………not likely. So, do you see what you’ve done?
Sankiana -> Do not play dumb with me. *He held a strange accent, one that barely made those booming words understandable. Those eyes narrowed further. This man was trying to trick him. He wouldnt find that wise.* I know girl here. I smell her. She smell like one who hired me, hired others. Many others. You cannot hide girl. She will be killed. Man wants it so. Do not make this hard on self. Move aside. Or end up like them. *A nod of his hairy head upwards towards the rigging showed Valerian where the crew had gone. Their bodies were impaled upon the sails and mast. The wood gone right through them. The blood absent from their skewered forms.* I did that. Now, give me girl. I would hate to kill man of great skill such as yourself. This is not what you do. Do not risk neck for this one. She not worth it. Find some other hole to dock your ship. There are plenty others. *The grip upon his sword tightened, but other than that he did not move.*
Valerian -> *He cocked an eyebrow and took a few sniffs of the air.* Uhhh, I hate to say it my oversized friend, but all I smell is you, and it’s making me long for a week sleeping in the stables. *That next little bit about others intrigued him a bit.* What are you talking about, there are no others. She told me she was the last. *He didn’t even bother looking up when the man indicated where the bodies were. He knew they were there. This guy wasn’t here for him, otherwise he’d have attack rather than started talking. Which also meant he didn’t really want to attack, so he was going to use some sort of scare tactic, and for that you need bodies, so he wouldn’t have thrown them overboard.* A man of great skill? Does that mean you know me? Well, I have to say you have me at a disadvantage, I’ve never heard of you my large bodied friend. *He smirked and drummed his fingers on the handle of his sword a few times.* Typically no………..this isn’t what I do. But I DO keep my promises if possible, and I promised this girl you’re looking for that I’d get her to safety, which right now means either making you go away, or killing you. So, which shall it be?
Sankiana -> *For the first time during their meeting the man lowered that glare and allowed a smirk to come to his wide mouth.* Hmph. Girl lied to you. 'Nother reason to let go. She not only one. Man wants her dead one too. Dont know what they called. Just know they smell the same. And her time, is up. *The man was done talking. He rose his mighty foot high and swiftly brought it down to not only send the ship violently rocking but making a hole beneath him. He fell through the hole and down into the decks to retrieve his target, landing in a manner that strangely did not send him crashing all the way through.* Girl, come out now. Do not make me ask twice.
Valerian -> Not the only one then huh? Well, that makes things interesting. *It seems he pushed his luck a little too far and didn’t end up actually getting any information he wanted out of the guy, he was hoping for a name or at least location. Neither of which he got, but maybe she could give him some help with information with what little he did get from the guy. As the man lifted his foot, Valerian took the opportunity and lunged at him. Sure, Val’s weight wouldn’t be enough to knock the guy over normally, but with one leg lifted and his focus on putting a hole in the deck, it would be enough to at least knock him off balance, that combined with the fall to the lower deck would be enough to do what he wanted, knock the man over.*
Sankiana -> *The force of their bodies impacting upon the lower deck shook the ship once again. The distant sound of splintering wood should have brought alarm, but the man was too busy trying to get to his feet to care that the ship may be falling apart.* That was not smart move. *A growl erupted from his mouth, lips pulled back to reveal a row of sharp fangs. A dark cloud erupted around him, quickly filling the lower deck and clouding the vision of Valerian. If he thought to lunge into the smoke at the man he would not meet the giant man he saw before. When the smoke cleared the man had gone and in his place towered a titanic, snarling wolf. His fur the many colors that the man's beard was, his eyes the same. Those twin peaks folded back and his fangs were bared. Just one of those great paws were the size of Valerian's head, those teeth looked capable of breaking one of his swords into pieces with ease.* One last chance. MOVE! *He barked. His wet nose twitching, looking for the woman.*
Valerian -> *He took a step back as the smoke or whatever it was filled the lower deck.* Ok, well this is new. *He wasn’t about to lunge into a cloud of something he didn’t know about. So it wasn’t until it cleared that he saw that there was a wolf in place of the large man.* A lycanthrope? I thought you were just creatures of legends. Not even the monks had proof that you things existed. *Slowly, a smirk spread across his face.* A shame we had to meet like this, I’d much rather have fought you on land, where we’d both be at our best…………but, I guess this will have to suffice. Mumyo Jinpuu. Mizuchi. *He drew two of his blades at once, each hand drawing a blade from the opposite hip. He arced them up and crossed them in an X and sent a X shaped air blade directly towards the wolf’s head, and continued by bringing the swords down in another X, sending another set of air blades right through the bottom of the ship.*
Sankiana -> *The wolf lowered his head towards the oncoming attack and rushed at him. With his massive size and stride he was upon the man in seconds, the lethal arc of air slicing into the hardened fur and drawing blood. But it did nothing more. That fur of his was like armor. Valerian would find this lycan a worthy opponent. Before Valerian could perform the second attack the wolf was on him. Attempting to leap on him and tear his throat out. Valerian could feel his hot breath and see saliva soaked fangs up close, but before he could sink his fangs into him a blinding light sent the wolf crashing through the hull of the ship and into the waters with a pitiful yelp. The source was obvious of course. Sankiana stood with her hand outstretched and a look of slight confusion on her features.* Was that a wolf? *Before any of them could speak further the water came rushing in quickly from the hole Sanki had made.* Oh Verna... *She swore, biting her lip* I cant swim....
Valerian -> *Well, he’d been expecting the wolf to be a tad slower, so the fact that he didn’t get his second attack off came as a bit of a surprised. He found himself on his back with the wolf pinning him down.* Oh, you’ve got to be fucking kidding me. This…..can’t…..be…..*He didn’t get a chance to finish his statement due to a blinding flash and the wolf being throw off him and through the hull. He lay there for a few seconds before moving, despite what Sanki had said about not being able to swim.* That’s a shame………could have learned a lot from his corpse. *He stood up and “dusted” himself off, acting like she hadn’t just saved him.* So, can’t swim? That might have been something worth mentioning before we headed out into the open ocean. Come on, let’s hope they weren’t too cheap to get a rowboat.
Valerian -> *Well, he’d been expecting the wolf to be a tad slower, so the fact that he didn’t get his second attack off came as a bit of a surprised. That might have been something worth mentioning before we headed out into the open ocean. Come on, let’s hope they weren’t too cheap to get a rowboat.
Sankiana -> *Fixated on the water rushing into the ship she had not heard him. Fear coated her countenance.* We have to get off this ship! We have to.... *Sankiana gazed wildly about. Her breathing started to become rapid, panicked. Fingers clenching and unclenching* Ships are the worse! *She threw her eyes onto Valerian, trying her best to put on a brave face. But that failed miserably at the sound of the water filling the hull second by second* Is there a way we can get off of the ship? Another boat or something?! And why was there a wolf here?!
Valerian -> *He sighed and waded through the water over to her.* Come on, let’s go before you die or something. Don’t understand what the big deal is, It’s basically the same stuff you bathe in, just more of it. *He took her firmly by the wrist and in one swift motion dunked her under the water for less than a second before pulling her back up.* See? Nothing to worry about. Now stop panicking and lets get out of here. *He led her up the stairs to the main deck and literally tossed her into the rowboat before cutting the ropes and letting it fall down to the water.*
Sankiana -> *The grasp at her wrist she thought to be him tugging her to safety was instead a dunk in the water. This was not calmly. She thrashed and kicked around like a maniac, panicking even more so than she did before. When Valerian finally brought her up there was nothing but gasping and choking for a couple of moments. All of her soaked to the bone. The fabric of her robe, her raven strands. The whole of her. A piercing glare did she direct at Valerian but other than that nothing was said. He was, after all, rescuing her. She would berate him later. For now, she let him lead her to safety and...throw her into the boat like a sack of potatoes. That she didnt really appreciate either. Or the drop to the ocean's surface.* Verna, help me. *Came a small whine underneath her breath, spitting out more water. Quickly did she fold her arms over her chest. Concealing what the wet fabric was revealing.* Have you...done this before?
Valerian -> *He jumped from the sinking boat down into the row boat which of course made it rock a bit, probably something else she wouldn’t like.* Done what before? Saved a woman I barely know from a creature that isn’t supposed to be real? No, that’s a new one, even for me. *He racked the oars and used one to push from the sinking ship.* Well, this just added a little bit longer to the trip.
July 02, 2013
Sankiana -> Imagine that. *Chuckled Sankiana. Fingers clenching the opposite arms tightly. He was right though, the journey would take a wee bit longer than anticipated now that the ship had been wrecked. Land was maybe an hour from their current position. Maybe a little less but it was still extra time due to lack of a larger vessel. A sigh she gave while fingers pushed damp strands behind her ear. She looked miserable. Wet and miserable. Not only was she now a lot closer to the water than she wanted to be but now she finds out that her pursuer was a giant wolf? Oh, about that...* You did not know that fellow did you? *Inquired the wet woman with a frown of concern.* I am not certain if others in your profession are well acquainted with each other or not. I suppose you would have known about a talking wolf though if you were, huh? *The question was rather foolish and she wished she had kept it to herself.* I just want to know what I did to deserve this. I thought...I thought I was kind to everyone....
Valerian -> Know him? Hell no. The only thing I’ve ever seen that size was either a house or a golem. *He cocked an eyebrow at her as he continued rowing away from the sinking ship in the direction that it had been going.* You realize that expecting one merc to know every other one is like expecting everyone in a city to know everyone else right? There are far too many of use for something like that, and spread far too widely across the world. *He shook his head.* Sure, there are some that group together and sort of share things…………not my style unless a job is too much for me to handle on my own, though I tend to try and avoid those types of jobs if possible. Relying on someone else just……….doesn’t sit well with me. *He sat in silence for a while after her last question.* Sometimes…..it’s not about what you’ve done. Just what you are…..what you have…..or in your case, having “the other that smells like you wanting you dead.”
Sankiana -> *Thin brows rose heavenward at such a comment, her curiosity spiking as significantly* Smells like me? What? Thats a rather strange thing to say. Did that wolf say that to you? *Canine type creatures did have a strong sense of smell. So, if he had found her based on her scent, that means that there was someone else like her out there. But were they aware that they were killing one of their own kind?* Did he give you any other information than that? Anything? I thought...I thought I was the only one who had powers like mine. I do not know many people personally who have abilities, but I thought I was the only one who could control light. Verna help me, I wish things were not in such a mess. It has to be a misunderstanding. Why would you want one...of your own people....nevermind... *Her rowboat companion happened to be someone whos line of work was taking the lives of other people upon orders. She was certain that a handful if not a majority of those who hired them were asking him to kill others who may be the same species. It was silly of her to think that someone would not want the same done to her. Perhaps they wanted to be the only one left? It was all so puzzling. Maybe..maybe it could do with her lost memories? Maybe this person could tell her who she was! No, she would not be THAT naive. Chances are this person knew exactly who she was and its the reason they wanted her dead.* Too many questions, not enough answers... *Sighed she, frowning out at the open sea* Do you need help rowing? I feel quite silly just sitting here while you do all the work.
Valerian -> *He nodded.* I was trying to get some sort of info from him, he wasn’t the smartest thing in the world, however his patients didn’t hold out as long as I had hoped. All I was able to get out of him was that whoever was after you smells like you. Was hoping that you’d be able to figure out more from that little bit of information. *He just sort of tuned her out as she went on her little rant about killing someone of her own kind, since, though he didn’t hear her, she was right, he’d been hired to kill a number of his own species, as well as others. And as such didn’t hear about her asking to help him row.*
Sankiana -> *When he did not respond she could only assume he was fine on his own and did not push the issue. So, she left her thoughts to her head. Peering out over the ocean once more. It still made her uneasy, very uneasy. But the only other thing she could look was either the boat or Valerian, and it was impolite to stare. And she could only gaze down for so long until her neck hurt. So, the wide blue it was. Trying to let the gentle waves calm her mind, not upset her stomach. There would be no time to enjoy the serenity that the sea provided them, their attacker had other ideas. After being blasted into the sea and knocked unconscious for a moment or two he had regained his composure and sought to seeking his target and her protector. After nosing around in the wreckage that had sunk into the tide below he concluded that they had successfully escaped. And it did not take him long to spot the rowboat on the surface. With the same speed he had displayed upon the ship he placed himself below them and shot up like a bullet from a gun. Since neither possessed the ability to sense his approach they would caught completely off guard when his massive form broke right through the boat and split it right in two. The force was enough to throw the both of them into the sea, seperating them effectively and providing the unnamed beast with the chance he needed to catch his prey. While Valerian was still hopefully surprised and confused the mangy monster manuevered over to the thrashing and kicking form of the drowning woman. But she would not go easily. As the wolf approached she starting spitting and splashing water in his direction to stave him off* Get away from me! *She screamed and kicked, effectively pissing off her attacker. He did not care for all the sea water she was thrashing at him. He growled in annoyance and tried to get a good grip on her flailing form* Would you stop moving?! *Sankiana shouted and kicked at him some more, trying more to stay afloat that make him leave* NO! GO AWAY!
July 03, 2013
Valerian -> *”You gotta be kidding me” was what went through his mind as the wolf creature managed to shoot itself through the bottom of the boat. Being caught off guard, it ensured that he ended up underwater, which wasn’t the best of things. He could swim well enough, but with the number of swords he had strapped over his body, it wasn’t an easy feat, but something he could manage. The other thing that he faced was something entirely new, fighting in water. He’d never tired it, but he could guess that he wouldn’t be able to use any of his normal moves. Despite that, he drew one of his blades and did his best to swim at the wolf.*
Sankiana -> *The wolf was growing more and more frustrated with the entire job. Getting salt water thrown in his face was pissing him off a great deal. And the woman was thrashing around way too much for him to grab a hold of her. And then there was the young man protecting her, Valerian. It seemed he was at a disadvantage in the water. Good. When he latched on to the girl he could swim alot faster than the man could and be rid of him. When he grabbed her anyway. But he had to hurry, the man was coming quick on his tail. The wolf's ears twitched and listened for the distance, trying to judge how much time he had left. It was during this temporary distraction that Sankiana saw her chance. As quickly as she could she drove a palm to the beast's face and blasted him with a powerful light. Hoping to shoot his head off. But the toughened fur prevented the severing of his head, it did not however keep his sight from being stolen. The light was great in its radiance. Illuminating the area with its brightness and the close proximity was enough to blind the wolf. He howled in fury and pain, thrashing around in agony* YOU BITCH! YOU FUCKING WHORE! YOU... *While his mouth was agape in his temper Sankiana siezed another fruitful opportunity to do him harm. Into his mouth did she fire a beam of light with enough strength to rip right through him. Tearing through his innards and out the other end. Missing Valerian of course. The wolf's body twitched and jerked as blood gathered in his still mouth, his sightless eyes staring into nothing while his body began to sink. He was not dead yet, but surely he would be when he reached the ocean floor*
Valerian -> *He slowed a little as he watched the “helpless” woman dispatch the wolf. He sighed and slipped the drawn sword back into it sheath, the proceeded to swim over at full speed, well as fast as he currently could, to Sankiana. Once there, he snagged a bit of floating debris so she could latch on to and float.* Well……….that’s two out of two boats that I’ve been on with you that have sunk. I’m thinking you should just stay on the island and never come off, or at least take a different boat than I do.
July 04, 2013
Sankiana -> *Sankiana quickly pulled herself upon the wreckage offered. Gasping and panting, and also sopping wet. So far this has not been her day, or week. Or couple of weeks.* I am...sorry... *Breathed the damsel, her features currently hidden from view. Face first upon the floating wood. She was trying her very best to catch her breath and just become calm in general. Never in her entire life had she taken another life. Never. The sight of the dying wolf sinking into the dark depths below filled her head and made her quite pale.* Oh Verna... *Moaned she, the form of hers giving a quiver. She decided to keep her woes to herself. The last thing she wanted to hear was his criticism. Recently had not been very polite to her, whether that was due to the situation or not she was uncertain. She just didnt like it. Hopefully when things died down he would become a little more pleasant. But would he leave her?* No more boats, thats okay with me.
Valerian -> Sorry for what? Taking care of yourself? *He sighed and leaned back, floating on his back just staring up at the sky.* Well………at the rate stuff keeps breaking, we’re never going to make it to the island. And I’m going to have a shit load of explaining to do once we get there. *He turned his head slightly to look at her.* No more boats means you’re not going to leave the island, unless they’ve managed to come up with a better way of transportation. In which case……….well, then that would surely secure pirate superiority.
Sankiana -> *The Tireenian slowly cast an eye on Valerian, raising her head slowly to do so.* Did I...get you into trouble with someone? *Completely did she forget about her own problems and focus on his. It was the quickest way to get Sankiana out of any funk. Just tell her about your problems. It was not a coping mechanism, she just liked helping others. Especially when she felt their problems were her fault. Palms laid flat upon the board and she pushed herself up a bit to consider the man fully* I am so sorry! I will you use my savings to pay them back! I will! I do not want you to suffer anymore for me. *Was she really bad luck? Was she really just a bane on the existance of others? Were the friends who helped her in the past hiding their feelings of annoyance for the woman? And there she was, back on herself. That was quick*
Valerian -> Ships aren’t exactly a resource that most people can throw away at will. And if I could afford one of my own, don’t you think I’d have a place of my own? *He sighed and looked back up to the sky.* Not sure if I’m in trouble or not……but someone won’t be happy. *He laughed.* Oh, it’s not a matter of money I’m sure……….just, an inconvenience, since it wasn’t a full sized ship and had been sitting on dock for……a while, just waiting.
Sankiana -> Then you can take me to this person and let me plead your case. I will not let you take the fall for something that is my fault! You just let me handle it! Please! Especially if it means... *A sigh crept from her lips and blood crept to her cheeks. Her gaze falling downwards and her tones becoming soft, barely above a whisper* ...that you will be by my side...like you promised. *Those lips spread to let a small smile drift to it, fingers idly fiddling with soaking strands* But, do you think whoever sent...that thing...after me...will send more?
Valerian -> Chat Lobby: *He looked over to her again and smiled, which soon turned into a full blow laugh which lasted for several seconds.* Oh no, that…….won’t be possible. Don’t worry, I’ll deal with it. *He knew she didn’t have a clue as to who the deal was with, which is what made it amusing to him.* I have no idea. Probably, when and if they find out that the wolf failed…….well it depends on how much coin the person has and how determined he or she is to get you.
Sankiana -> Well, I guess we will find out soon. Eh? So its probably best if I stay on this island of yours for a while. Just in case. *Another smile after that. Their destination seemed so far away now, even though they were supposed to be getting closer. And with no means of propelling the boat they had no choice but to just float. The hour just turned into possibly another day. Could Valerian stay in the water that long? No, she did not want to risk that. Silently, with her hands clasped before her, did she began to pray. And hard, with her lips clamped with those pearly whites.* <<Oh Verna! Please! Help us! Give us your...>> *Either Verna worked fast or Sankiana had excellent timing. The water about them began to churn and rock gently, enough to send their little "craft" bobbing some. Another attack? The woman thought. No, a quick gaze around showed it was no attempt on her life, but a possible rescue! A ship was heading their way, and a great one at that. It was massive. The sails painted black, a flame with a dragon wrapped about it upon the dark field. The flag displayed a naked woman dancing in fire, snapping in the wind. The shouts of the crew could be heard at the close proximity, and a familiar voice called down to them. Well, familiar to Valerian anyway* Well well well, if it isnt my chatty friend. *The fiery temptress Aritsu stood upon the edge of the ship, gazing down at the pair with a smirk* Can I offer you some assistance? Or do you want to float all the way there?
Valerian -> Maybe not soon. Travel isn’t exactly a high speed sort of thing. Besides, who know where on Rea this person is? It could take years for him to learn of the failure. *He turned to look at the oncoming ship and noticed the flag and closed his eyes.* Oh you have got to be fucking kidding me……..*He sighed and closed his eyes, just waiting for what he figured was coming, and sure enough, it was.* I think I’d rather just float here if that’s alright with you………
Sankiana -> Oh really now? *Called down the woman, stringing her tongue along her lips. For a second or two she let her eyes fall upon the woman. It only made her smile wider, allowing those fangs to peek through that intriguing grin* Even with the information I have on your friend there? About who wants her and why? Dont tell me you'd pass that info up. Unless, you know exactly whats going on and youre hidin' it from here. Thats pretty cruel, dontcha think? *The smile spread wider, almost menacingly so. That made the Tireenian uneasy. She did not like this woman, not at all. And judging from Valerian's tone he did not either. But she was wet, cold, and wanted to be out of the ocean as soon as possible. But not without Valerian's say so. She was following his lead in all this.* Valerian, what should we do? *Whispered Sanki, her countenance full of concern.* You should get on the ship! *Shouted Aritsu, chuckling* Oh come on, I wont bite!
Valerian -> How the fuck do you know anything about what’s going on here? Or even who she is? *He continued to float there, his eyes closed but facing straight up. After a few seconds he s ighed.* Yeah…..get on the ship. She’s…………fine. She just doesn’t know how to shut up. So if you want conversation, well you’ll get it. *He finally opened his eyes and looked up.* Well? You gonna lower a boat or something for us?
Sankiana -> *Aritsu usually got her way, so the boat was already being lowered before he even agreed. She knew he would see things her way. When the boat touched water beside them Sankiana did not hesitate to climb aboard.* Oh thank Verna! *She offered a hand in assistance to Valerian, just in case. Using the other hand to cover once again what the wet fabric was shamelessly putting on display. When the boat was hoisted up and back to the ship Sankiana was heaved from it by two strapping young men. Unless Valerian stopped them from doing so. Every member of her crew was a handsome man of almost every species one could think of. And almost all of them were shirtless and well muscled.* Gentlemen, could you take the Tireenian to my chambers? I have some dry clothes there she could wear. *Again, if Valerian did not stop them they did as they were bid. And looked happy to do so. Their eyes sweeping over her dripping figure without an ounce of shame.*
Valerian -> *He continued to float there even after Sanki hand been shown to where she could get some dry clothes. Eventually he too climbed up, without the assistance of the crew and easily enough climbed to the deck, still dripping wet.* Well……..not to sound ungrateful, but what the hell are you doing out here? Don’t you have some sort of mission to be attending to?
Sankiana -> Thats none of your business. Just be fucking grateful. *Smiles* Do you need dry clothes too? Or did you want the information first? *Upon one of the crates did she settle her bottom, throwing one leg over the other* Cause youre gonna end up dead if you stick around with her. Im telling ya, this guy is sending a whole army to bring her back. And youre good, but enough to take on all these guys? I wouldnt risk it. *That was as much as she was going to say until he decided if he wanted to change first or get the spill. Meanwhile, Sankiana had kicked out her so called helpers after having to slap them more than once for ungentlemen-like conduct. How disgusting. Pigs they were. One thing she did not miss about working at the Wench. But would she have to resort to such a profession again?*
Valerian -> OH, finally learned to keep your mouth shut have you? Or does that only work when being asked? *He coughed.* That depends, you gonna strip me down or do I have to do it myself? *He leaned against the mast and crossed his arms.* Well, thanks for the advice, but I’ll do as I see fit. So, what do you know of what’s going on around here?
Sankiana -> Yes, I would like to know that myself! *Sankiana had quickly changed and dried as best she could in order to hear about this info. Its not that she did not trust Valerian to relay the message, but she wanted to hear it herself. Though her attire had lowered her defenses quite a bit. A steel bra that was straining to hold her great bust, a loin cloth to match, the fabric extending down to the deck. It left little to the imagination and the woman felt the other was doing it to mess with her. Aritsu grinned, amused* Oh do you now? Well, if the Princess commands I must obey right?
Valerian -> *He looked over to where Sankiana was when he heard her voice to say something, but found that he couldn’t. So he just stared for a few seconds.* Not……what I imagined you to put on, but damned if I don’t like it. *He smirked and looked over to Aritsu.* I take it this is your idea of a joke? While not funny…………I do like it. But I must point out one thing. *He walked over to Aritsu and leaned in and whispered in her ear.* There is someone with a better body than you. *He stood up again and winked before backing off a few steps.*
Sankiana -> Princess? *The greatly exposed Sankiana would have glared and voiced her discomfort without hesitation if this had been any other situation. But the recent news that she was royalty had stunned her a bit. Aritsu flicked her eyes over the woman, considering what Valerian had just whispered in her ear. But, she already knew that.* Yes, Princess. You are Princess Sankiananiniel Soriya of Tireen. Protector of the Light Region. Why you dont remember that I have no clue, but I do know that you are the only thing standing in his way of ruling the entire island. The rest of your family is dead. Killed a few years ago. Your parents, your sister, your brother; all dead. So, once youre dead he thinks he can inherit the throne. Another bit of information Im looking into more, but...if you come work for me I can promise you I will do my best to get the rest of the information you need.
Valerian -> *He didn’t pay much attention to what was being said, though he was hearing every word. It didn’t affect him much or at all really. So he just leaned back against the mast again and looked back and forth between the two women. He did cock an eyebrow as Aritsu mentioned working for her, interested to see what Sanki’s reaction would be when she learned what sort of business the other woman ran.*
He found himself on his back with the wolf pinning him down.* Oh, you’ve got to be fucking kidding me.
