Alright. Here is the rules that I typed up. Let me know if it's good to go or if something needs changed, removed or added.
The following list of rules set forth is to be considered for both the chat and forums. These are the views of the staff of Reborn Revolution, and we ask that as long as you wish to RP on our site, that you follow them. The only acceptation to this rule is that these types of comments are allowed IC. If you are using these to play up the personality of your character, that is fine. But please remember to never let it leak OOC.
Inappropriate Comments
• Racial slurs
• Religious attacks/ranting
• Bashing on sexual orientation
• Name Calling**
• Perverted gestures**
Racial slurs can range from calling another member a derogatory name about their ethnicity to what could seem like a harmless joke.
Ex: “Hey whitey, run out of crackers?” or “Mmm… there’s my sweet chocolate.”
We understand that instances like that are done in fun and jest, but sometimes that is all that is needed before more heated conversations are started. Before we know it members are finding themselves uncomfortable.
The following also coincides with religious discussion. Everyone has their own beliefs, and because of this if you wish to hold a conversation OOC about your beliefs with other members, please do so in a private chat or other messaging client. Please refrain from doing so at all in the forums, unless it’s a private conversation.
**Name calling and perverted gestures are not forbidden. But we do ask to keep it in good spirits. Make sure that the other party involved understands that you are kidding with them. If it feels as though the atmosphere in the chat is suffering from such discussion the members involved will be asked by the moderation team to halt the behavior.
Best rule of thumb: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.
Substance Abuse
RR retains a fairly lenient standing on the discussion of drugs and alcohol. Talking about cigarettes and drinking with OOC is perfectly fine, so long as it doesn’t become a problem.
Ex: Member A is repeatedly spamming the chat with OOC talk about how drunk he is or is going to get.
The things that will not be tolerated at all are discussion of any illegal drugs or acts of illegal drug use. The means that we don’t want to know how high you are, that you are about to smoke a huge joint, or that you are waiting for your dealer to get off work, etc. Discussion of that sort will result in immediate action by the moderation team.
This rule is in place to protect not only RR itself, but also to keep RR safe and friendly for members of all ages.
Sexual Roleplaying
The use of sexual acts in your OOC roleplaying is accepted up until a point. We ask that once it reaches a point that it could be considered cybering that you please take it to a private window or external messenger. Explicit sexual roleplaying is not allowed in the main chat room or anywhere on the forums.
Any forum posts found containing explicit sexual content will be deleted and the parties involved will be confronted by the moderation staff. Just remember this: if it’s going to get real hot and steamy, move it away from public view.
Spamming/Flooding --- OOC Discussion
The main focus of this rule is for advertising purposes, as well as random OOC clutter. The chat and forums of RR are not for the personal advertisement of yourself or another company or website. If you wish to share links, you may do so in separate windows or messengers. If it is something that you feel may be beneficial to multiple members, you may ask for permission by a member of the moderation staff to post a link. But keep in mind that this is on a very limited basis.
Filling the chat with random OOC conversation is another form of flooding. This can include talking about something random, like how your cat is looking at you funny as you’re eating your pizza at the computer with your feet up on the desk so you can look at that funny growth on your middle toe. Just because you find it interesting doesn’t mean that it’s important enough to halt game play.
**the only time OOC flooding is even semi ignored is if the chat is currently dead and no action is going on. But even at those times we highly discourage such acts. There are plenty of social networks where you can publish such comments and the feedback from friends. RR is not one of those outlets.
The point of keeping OOC discussion to a minimum is to help keep members IC. Staying IC helps to move the story forward. Simply be aware of your OOC discussion and try to restrict yourself to keeping it at a minimum. If a moderator feels that the OOC discussion is getting out of hand he/she will address the members responsible.
Disrupting Quest Threads/Posts
Purposely interrupting or ruining another member’s quest with random topics or irrelevant posts is not allowed. Such acts only cause problems and discourage member participation and forum/chat activity.
Members found doing this repeatedly will be confronted directly by a member of the moderation staff.
Arguments and IC Conflicts
Situations like this do happen. If you find yourself in disagreement with another member regarding something IC and neither party will yield to the other, fights will start. This in turn leaks OOC and starts to ruin the overall experience of other members.
Forum posts that do nothing but promote fights and arguments, which we call fire starters, will be deleted from the forums and the party responsible will be dealt with accordingly.
If you find yourself getting pulled into a fight or argument, don’t enter it. The only thing you do is risk being pulled into the situation and becoming part of the problem. Leave all arguments and conflicts to the moderation staff. They are there specifically to handle such situations. Moderators are considered experts on the way the rules and system of the site is handled and are the most suited for such situations.
**Remember that each moderator will deal with situations in their own way. In the end all moderators will try to achieve the best outcome, so please be patient and respect their decisions.
NPCs
All non-playable characters are just that. Non-playable. Members are not allowed to create reoccurring NPCs to use in gameplay. All NPCs listed are used by staff members to help move story along.
Members are asked to focus their time on their main characters that were submitted using the join form. If there are questions please contact a staff member for more information.
