Chapter 1
"You better have a good reason from getting me dragged to the Commoner's District" Wesker told the distressed doctor. Albert Wesker was a member of the government whom was usually stationed in the Capitol City of Marseine. He was by no means a General at all, but he was one rank below that, in other words a Captain. On this day he had been vaguely advised of a situation at a psychiatric facility that was on the commoner's side of the border between the Noble and Commoner districts of Marseine. "My apologies Captain Wesker. But this situation is too dire for us to deal with on our own" the doctor replied. Wesker would stop abruptly at the front entrance of the facility. "Why is this facility missing its gates, the front doors, and a chunk of the front wall?" Wesker asked. "Oh we're missing a lot more than that" the doctor replied. Upon going further inside, Wesker would find broken weapons and body parts scattered about, as well as the walls painted in blood splatter. Wesker would stop again. "There's much more to see" the doctor said. "No need" Wesker replied. Wesker would use his x-ray vision to see through the walls and floors and ceilings, and his telescopic vision to see throughout the facility. The scenery was essentially the same as what he had encountered so far. Though all of the facilities equipment was in ruin as well. "Give me a head count" Wesker ordered. "90 percent of the staff were killed..." the doctor started to say. "You're profoundly incompetent staff is irrelevant to me. Obviously this is the doing of one of your patients. How many did you securely transfer to another location? And how many escaped with the culprit" Wesker demanded. "....none...and none" the doctor said timidly. Wesker turned towards the doctor with a glare, "Explain." "Yes this was all the doing of one of our patients, but that patient not only killed 90 percent of our staff he also murdered 99.9 percent of the patients. He..." the doctor got interrupted. "In other words, the culprit killed every single other patient besides himself and every member of the staff who wasn't cowardly enough to flee, and then he got away. Does that correctly encapsulate the magnitude of your impotence?" Wesker said. "ye...yes Captain" the doctor replied ashamed. "Where do you keep the patient records?" Wesker asked. "Basement level 5. Followed the stairwell at the end of the hall as far down as you can go. The records are in a vault down there, you cant miss it. The records of the patient who is responsible for this is located in file 9875976. Though it might be tricky navigating through the facility in its ruined state. Also you'll need a key for the vault door" the doctor informed. Wesker raised an eyebrow at the doctor as he said, "Who do you think you're talking to." "...or it'll be really easy for someone of your rank....my apologies. um, Might i ask what you plan on doing" the doctor said. "Two things. Get rid of garbage. Then read up on my new prey" Wesker replied. "What garbage?" the doctor asked. The doctor yelled as he was bifurcated by Wesker, via energy blade composed entirely of negative-Ki.
Meanwhile, on the far side of the Commoner's District of Marseine. An 18 year old by the name of Lucian stood within an empty residence. His clothing was disheveled and bloody, his feet were bare, his hair was a medium length silver/grey. He had no idea why the residence was seemingly abandoned. The residence certainly wasn't his though, and it never belonged to anyone he ever knew. Nor would he ever have any knowledge of how the family that once lived there were all drafted into the government. "How did i get here? How did i get out of that place?" Lucian wondered, incredibly baffled. Though the holes in his memory, while frustrating, were no surprise to him whatsoever. Even though he didn't know why the residence was uninhabited, its emptyness was a relief to him. A stark contrast to the crowded streets outside, where his mind was bombarded constantly by the endless thoughts of hundreds of people all at once. Lucian had briefly toured each of the abodes empty rooms, before settling down on a sheet covered chair. He had no idea what the room this chair was in was for. The lack of personal effects, or much of anything for that matter, made it even more difficult. The rather large mirror across the room didn't help provide any clues as much as it made the rooms purpose more baffling. Many would consider how Lucian starred into that mirror to be self-absorbed and vain. However, Lucian had grown to dislike mirrors over the years. Mirrors only served one purpose for him, which had nothing to do with vanity whatsoever. When he starred into the mirror's reflection of his eyes he wasn't looking for himself, but rather any number of multiple persona's. His mind was not so much a sanctuary, as it was a hotel with an open door policy, where the guests never paid and never left. It was something he had been dealing with since the somewhat-tender age of 8. It was the reason his own family gave up on him and tossed him into a psychiatric facility ten years ago. Not so much for the sake of helping him as it was for the sake of his family trying to salvage their own reputation. It was probably also the reason he had somehow escaped that facility. Though he didn't know for sure since his alternate personalities kept their memories to themselves.
"Who did this?" Lucian asked. No answer. "Why are my clothes torn up? Why am I covered in blood? How did I get away from that place?!" Lucian asked. Not even the hint of an answer. Lucian stood up now. He telekineticly raised the mirror to the ceiling and then slammed it to the floor. The mirror shattered into six pieces. Lucian telekineticly flung the frame of the mirror out of the room, before making his way towards the fragments on the floor. He got down on his hands and knees and looked into the six mirror pieces. Six separate reflections of himself, and yet not a single one of them was him. "Do I need to ask again" Lucian said. Whether it was in his own mind or actually happening, Lucian couldn't tell, but at that point each one of the reflections looked back at Lucian of their own accord. Each of them with different expressions on their faces, or rather his face. Noah, Ryu, Elizabeth, Finn, Animal, Omega were their names and they were the six most dominant alternate personalities of Lucian. Each of them feeling that they were as real and alive as Lucian was, if not more so. "Who is responsible?" Lucian asked.
"You are. You wanted to skedaddle from that scene for a long time" Ryu said. Lucian's gaze averted. "For a handful of years, I did. But eventually I started to want to stay. The doctors at the psychiatric facility seemed like my only chance of ever being sane and normal again" Lucian admitted. "Then go back" Noah said. Lucian hesitated. "If I were still there, I wouldn't try to leave. But since I'm out I'd at least like to...." Lucian was interrupted by Noah. "No! the psychiatric facility is associated with the government and the government knows whats best for everyone. It wasn't right to leave. It it's my place to be there then so be it. If it's my fate for the government to punish for this then so be it. I'm heading right back there, and praying for the government to be mercifull" Noah said. "No way dude. I'm fight'n the man and shakin up with anyone that fights that gnarly government. At least during the day, night time is for the ladies" Ryu said. "Disgraceful anarchist sinner" Noah said. "Oh get that stick out of your ass" Ryu replied. "I'd at least like to find my family. But I barely have any memories of them, so i'm not sure where to start. And I have the rest you to blame for that" Lucian said. "Booooooo! Family stinks. And you're all boring. I'm going to find new fweinds and play all day. I'll think up all new games and be the coolest ever!!!" Finn said, after sticking out his tongue. Elizabeth rolled her eyes. Then she started pointing at each one of them as she said, "Screw you. Screw you. Screw you. Screw you. Screw you. Screw you." "Bad word! Bad word!" Finn shouted. "Screw both the government and the rebellion, the whole world would be better off if they got rid of each other. As for anyone here who thinks i'll ever allow a return to that wretched facility of demented looney-tunes, you're sorely mistaken" Elizabeth said. Lucian's attention focused on Elizabeth. "Are you responsible for escaping the psychiatric facility? What did you do?!" Lucian asked. Elizabeth shrugged. "Judging from the paultry state of your sorry excuse for clothes, whatever happened was barbaric and below me" Elizabeth replied. At this point, Omega, who had been silently glaring at the rest of them so far, now spoke, "I killed everyone in the way, and the psychiatric facility was only the beginning." Omega then gave each of the alternate personalities plus Lucian a look. "And none of you are safe from me" Omega said.
"You better have a good reason from getting me dragged to the Commoner's District" Wesker told the distressed doctor.
